In the current environment of divisive politics, cultural wars and fake news perhaps this is a practical way for the average person to be more directly involved in shaping politics, a way that doesn’t involve becoming an activist or favor the loudest voices.
The city is reaching and engaging a wider audience than with traditional methods and has engaged otherwise hard-to-reach groups such as young adults and families with school-age children.
No matter the type of organization or engagement objectives you have, it all boils down to approaching the community on their terms and in ways that revolve around them.
